What is Rivaurie?
Rivaurie is a multi-sensory creative experience designed for anyone to tap into their imagination. You don't have to be an artist. You don't even have to know what you're going to make.
Paint with sound and color. Stamp with light. Make things grow and interact with the canvas. Feel your creations through electric haptic energy.
There are no rules. No steps to learn. Just play, explore, and find a little magic in the mundane.
Draw high on the canvas for a bright note, low for a deep one, and choose the instrument that plays it. A quick scribble becomes a run of notes. A slow curve becomes one long tone.
Press the speaker to hear it.
Watercolor pools at its edges. Chalk skips and crumbles. Marker lies flat. Ink runs wet and dark. Splatter is thrown rather than drawn.
Press and hold, and a flower blooms out of your finger. Hold longer for a fuller one. Draw a trunk and the branches grow outward on their own, then scatter leaves, snow and stars that stay where they land. Nothing is dropped from a menu at a fixed size. Everything grows out of the gesture that made it.
Seven distinct feels, one for each kind of thing that can happen, and they are ranked: a tick when a panel opens is softer than choosing a brush, which is softer than changing the paper, which is softer than committing to something.
Drawing has a texture of its own. A pulse arrives under your finger up to eleven times a second while a stroke is being made, so the line is something your hand registers as well as your eye.
Freezing the canvas gets a double pulse. So does saving your artwork, except its second beat is the firmer of the two. You can tell which one happened without looking at the screen.
Northern lights and a gentle current drift behind your drawing. Snow, petals, fireflies and stardust fall in front of it. None of it touches what you drew, so the weather happens around your picture rather than to it.
Tap Still and everything stops exactly where it is, which is how you look at what you made without anything moving. Tap it again and the canvas comes back to life.
Choose a palette rather than a color, and a single stroke sweeps through it. A line is never one flat shade.
Harp, bell, marimba, glass, music box, chime, shimmer and clarinet.
Save to your photos, keep drawings in the app, or record what you draw as a video with its own sound.
